Move Better AND Get Stronger without breaking your body down!

1. During our introductory session, I assess a proper starting point for your goal; Less pain = healthy gains.

2. During our trainings, we progress diligently over time to develop strength and mobility in a balanced way.

3. Muscle strength is as important as joint health and mobility, so I address both in your program.

4. Communication is key to adjust as we progress. Listening to our bodies is paramount in training. Less pain = healthy gains.

Why you need coaching expertise

I want your strength to show up outside of my gym when you need it. Whether you are taking your dog on the trails, playing ball on the court, playing with kids in the backyard, or going about life and travel without your back or legs ruining your day.

I came to this work after dealing with injury myself. Four months after my first Lisfranc surgery, I was still unable to walk my dog, let alone try to hike with my sons. Strength training with patience, consistency, and adequate progression was only possible for me with the help of expert coaches. I am now back to hiking, climbing, sprinting, and playing pickleball, but this required getting stronger in a methodical way.

I love helping people take on strength training to improve their quality of life just like it did for me. I’m an NSCA-certified trainer, an NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist, and an ATG Level 1 Coach (knees over toes training.) I have trained over 48 in-person clients one-on-one.

Some of my clients are rebuilding after physical therapy. Some are picking up a kettlebell or barbell for the first time. Some have strength trained before and need a different approach or need better results. My job is the same with all clients: meet you where you are, keep you safe during training, and help you build a body that can carry you for decades of active life doing things you love.

What to expect in 1:1 strength training

Based on your introductory session, I build a 3 month plan around your needs, not a generic workout.

Each session is hands-on coaching. I teach you what good form looks like, and I make modifications as your body needs them. You won’t be guessing. My observations and your feedback guide the way to keep the program personalized to your needs week to week and month to month.

I track your load and intensity. It is important the work is not so easy it offers little stimulus, but not so taxing it is difficult to recover from. Muscle and connective tissue recover at different rates.

My goal is to increase your confidence in what your body can do as our sessions progress.
